Chapter Eight

If you love me then you’ll take this dick…

“Man, come on, you don’t have to do this.” Trouble stood on a bed of rocks with his hands in the air. “I’ll leave her alone. I swear I will. Just don’t do this.”

Sonic and Esso stood in front of him with their hands in their pockets, neither of them moving to do anything yet. It was just after ten o’clock and was completely dark outside. The only lights that they were allotted were the ones from the factory behind them. The bright white lights served as an excellent source of illumination for what was about to take place.

“Nah homie, see, that’s where you messed up at. You should have left her alone from the beginning. Then this situation never would have come about.” Sonic removed his hands from his pockets. “See, I gave you a pass when we were in Florida because you did in fact have her first, but clearly, you wanted to test me.”

“Man, I swear it ain’t like that, Sonic man. Come on, bruh, you know me.”

“Yeah, I do, and that’s why I’ve stayed off your ass this long. You’re a bitch ass nigga.”

The fear in Troubles eyes turned into water and cascaded down his cheeks. Though nothing had been said, nor done yet, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to know what was about to happen. They were deep out into the outskirts of Atlanta behind an abandoned factory, nothing or no one in sight with the ability to prevent an untimely occurrence of death.

“Die with dignity, Trouble.” Esso’s calm voice made Sonic and Trouble look in his direction.

“Y’all don’t have to do this. Please Sonic, man, please. I promise I won’t bother Jet anymore. I’ll stay out of both of y’all way.”

Sonic shook his head no and pulled his shirt over his head.

“Put your hands up.”

Trouble shook with fear.

“I don’t want to fight you, bruh.”

“It doesn’t matter. Put your hands up,” Sonic told him again, still as calm as he had been since they’d gotten out there. With shaky legs and bad nerves, Trouble put his hands up and began to slowly back away. “Don’t run. Just fight. You’re a man,” Sonic stepped closer to him and he jumped backwards and fell over a rock. Now on the ground, Sonic rushed over to him before he could get up. “Get your ass up and fight.”

Sonic grabbed one of Trouble’s hands and pulled him to his feet. Trouble looked as if he had seen a ghost when Sonic got close to him. The whole scene was embarrassing as hell, to say the least. Sonic and Esso both had always known Trouble was the weakest link of them all, but they didn’t know it was this bad.

Some days, when they used to kick it, he would actually exemplify some tougher qualities; many a lot better than what he was doing right then. His eyes shifted from Sonic to Esso as he tried to gain his footing again.

“What I got to do for y’all not to kill me? Huh? I’ll do anything.
